Marco Barbaro

Marco Barbaro was born in 1988. He studied bassoon with Stefano Canuti at Steffani Conservatoire in Castelfranco Veneto (Treviso). In 2008 he was awarded the diploma under the guidance of Alberto Santi, with whom he  perfected the study of  baroque bassoon at the Bonporti Conservatoire in Trento. In 2012 he obtained the Master's Degree with Andrea Bressan with 110/110. Now he is improving the study of period instruments with Alberto Grazzi at Verdi Conservatoire in Milan.

He attended bassoon master classes with Vincenzo Menghini, Roberto Giaccaglia, Carlo Colombo, Francis Pollet, Györgyi Farkas. For baroque music with Roy Goodman, Alfredo Bernardini, Lars Ulrik Mortensen, Margaret Faultless, Patrick Ayrton, Katharina Arfken, Daniele Bovo, Stefano Vezzani, Johan Hofmann; with Filippo Faes, Luca Benucci, Giampaolo Pretto, Corrado Orlando, Francesco Di Rosa, Fabrizio Meloni, Andrea Oliva for chamber music.

He is the bassoonist of Seconda Prattica ensemble on period instruments. In 2009 he participated in the world première recording of the Psalmodia vespertina by Agostino Steffani, edited by Diastema. Bassoonist with the NousLeVent wind quintet with which he won first prize at the XVIII Competition Riviera della Versilia in 2009 and second prize at the XVI Chamber Music Competition G. Rospigliosi in 2010. He has obtained the third place at the International competition of Ancient Music M. Pratola 2013 for chamber music in Aquila (Italy).
